                                                                                              About Me  

My name is Briana Jones, I'm twenty-six years old, born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. I graduated from West Brook High School in 2013. After graduation, I was not exactly sure as to what I wanted for my future. After attending Lamar for a semester, I took some time off to evaluate what I wanted to do. Was school a good fit for me, or was I better off working for myself?  

As a child, I was taught that after high school you attend college, find a career, and work until you are old enough to retire. At the time I thought that was the way for me. It's the lifestyle everyone strives to attain. For whatever reason, this concept did not sit right with me. I know it is what I am supposed to do. I know it is a normal thing for society, but I also know that I will not be happy settling for that life.  

Although I have decided to become a full-time entrepreneur after graduation, I've also committed to always finishing what I start. Consistency is something I've struggled with my entire life. How could I ever make it working for or myself if I lack discipline? I decided that from here on out I will complete everything I start. 

I knew that I had to get back into school and finish my degree. I've put in too much work to let it all go to waste. I believe that Communication has been the perfect degree plan for me. Not only has it shown me how to communicate more effectively but also taught me to evaluate situations from the perspective of others. Not only have I learned how to properly advertise and pitch, but also how to appeal from the customers' perspective. 

This journey hasn't been easy, but it's worth it. Being able to look back at the empire I've worked so hard for will be a beautiful feeling. Someone once said, if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I disagree with that statement. If you love what you do, you'll work twice as hard. Your work as a business owner is a representation of your business. If you want loyal, returning customers then make sure your service is impeccable. After graduation, I plan to run my already thriving business, while showing others how to start their own.
